Fixed-price DevOps can work if the scope is honest
A fixed price is useful when the problem is clear and the boundaries are real.
Fixed-price work is appealing because everyone knows the number up front. It works best when the scope is specific enough that both sides can see the shape of the job.
If the problem is vague, fixed price can become a fight. If the problem is well understood, it can move things forward faster because nobody is negotiating every step.
The key is simple: define the outcome, define what is included, and do not pretend the scope is smaller than it is.
