Where AI actually helps in DevOps
Useful AI in operations is usually about pattern spotting, triage, and small bits of automation.
AI gets interesting in DevOps when it saves time on repetitive work. That might mean summarizing alerts, helping sort incidents, suggesting likely causes, or drafting runbook steps.
It is less useful when it is asked to replace judgment. The best results usually come from narrow tasks where the system can assist, but a person still makes the final call.
If AI removes friction from the work without adding confusion, it earns its place. If it becomes another tool to babysit, it probably does not.
